We opened in 1995 in the American City Building on Lake Kittamaqundi in Columbia under the auspices of the Rouse Company, and we moved to historic Ellicott City in 2016. A solo ager is an adult who may live alone and may not have children, close family members, or friends to rely on for support. JCS offers new program for ages 55+ for the opportunity to connect with other solo agers to gain strategies and support and discover new opportunities to thrive at every stage. This five-week series begins Wednesday June 4th and runs through July 2nd in person at the JCS Owings Mills Board Room 203 at the JCC. Please commit to attend all sessions. Leadership Howard County’s Big Event

Leadership Howard County, which seeks to empower leaders to strengthen and transform the community, will hold its annual Big Event: Endeavor to the Next Level. Former NASA astronaut Leroy Chiao will share stories from his four space missions, including tales of emergency situations. He will show attendees how leadership can foster a culture of operational excellence, collaboration, curiosity and creativity and how lessons from spaceflight can impact their organizations. Leadership Howard County’s Big Event brings together more than 400 leaders from business, government and nonprofit organizations in Howard County. Proceeds from the event support Leadership Howard County programs and scholarships. Early bird tickets cost $100 until May 5 and $85 for retired, veterans, students and nonprofits with fewer than 25 employees. Beginning May 6, tickets cost $125.
